Have Times Changed?
In 1966 model Donyale Luna was the first Black woman or any woman of color for that manner to pose on the cover of Vogue magazine. A model who was known for creating elaborate stories about her ethnicity to appear exotic rather than plain ole black.
Do you notice how her hands coyly cover her features? The purpose was as not to offend white readers. Now fast forward 42 years into the present. We have Beyonce Knowles who may have or may have not allowed her features to be altered for financial gain or mainstream acceptance for an ad for Loreal Cosmetics.
Has our society changed that much in four decades? Or are we still stuck in the 60’s.
You can skip to the end and leave a response. Pinging is currently not allowed.

Don’t get it twisted our society has changed a LOT! To not admit that would mean you are living under a rock.
But it’s funny (not in a ha ha sort of way) to see with many changes, many things still stay the same. We black people are still fighting to be completely accepted among a population that’s dominated by a different color.
And unfortunately the color of *something else overrides the pride of self worth.
* = money
