Legendary designer Yves Saint Laurent died yesterday after a long battle with brain cancer. His fashion house YSL glamorized “male” peices such as the blazer, tuxedo, pant suit and the leather jacket to become mainstays in womens fashion.
He is also praised for using black models in his work. Recognizing black beauty long before it was chic to do so. He was the first designer to use black models in his runway shows.
Katoucha was once a muse for YSL in the 70’s & 80’s.
