Aside from her modeling career Naomi Campbell is know for two things: her anger issues and her repeated run ins with the law. Naomi is finally speaking on her April 3rd incident at a London Heathrow Airport.

I was called a racial name on that flight… I was called a Golliwog supermodel…

When asked who called her a golliwog ([pictured below), which is a black rag doll inspired by black face minstrel Naomi responded

Someone on the flight, not the passenger.

Naomi has been globally banned from British Airways and they are standing ground that Naomi’s rage was just a reaction from her luggage being delivered late. But if she was called a golliwog was she justified in her actions of rage or she just pulling the race card to get a get out of jail free card.

In more pleasant news, Naomi was in Milan, Italy for Dolce & Gabbana’s Menswear Spring/Summer fashion show as shown above.

This is HISTORIC. Everyone knows that Europe has always been more progressive in it’s love for Blacks, which is why is came to no surprise to Glad It’s Night that Itailan Vogue has devoted it’s July issue in its entirety to Black models.

When will the U.S. catch on?! We’ve been telling y’all that black is beautiful since the 70’s!!!!

The issue will feature legendary photographer Steven Meisel’s work of the models of color that he has been privileged to shoot, which include: Naomi Campbell, Tyra Banks, Jordann Dunn, Veronica Webb, Alex Wek, Pat Clevland, Chanel Iman, and Karen Alexander.

We can’t wait to pick up our copy! The issue hit newstands Thursday in Europe & later this month in the U.S.

Junteenth is the celebration of the end of Slavery in the U.S

June 19th, 1865 Major General Gordon Granger informed slaves that they were free in Galveston, TX. Keep in mind that this was over TWO YEARS after President Lincoln made it illegal for anyone in America to practice slavery. The emanipation Proclaimation was made legal January 1st, 1863.

But the Proclaimation had a small effect on Texas since Union soldiers presence was scarce and there was no one to enforce the law eventhough it was known to be legal by white slave owners.

When General Lee surrendered in April of 1865 General Granger’s forces were strong enough to influence the resistence of the law.

Juneteenth is celebrated to reflect & to be proud of the African American experience, good & bad.

Eve was also at the Cartier Charity Event. We just can’t get past those tats! She looks great though. Maybe we are being a little biased but a woman with tattoos on her triceps & cleavage just doesn’t strike us as the most polished piece of silverware in the drawer.
